Research
Research in the ICE Laboratory includes the theoretical areas of control and estimation theory, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and smart or cognitive systems. Applied research includes mechatronic and aerospace systems, condition monitoring, data science, fault detection and diagnosis, and health sciences. We actively work on a large number of projects and areas, including:
- aerospace and space systems
- autonomous systems
- biological and chemical
- data science and security
- health sciences
- mechatronics and robotics
- smart or cognitive systems
Research partners and collaborators include the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI), MITACS, NASA, US Army Research Laboratory, USDA, NIST, and the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE). The ICE Laboratory is also supported by industry partners in Ontario, British Columbia, Maryland, and Michigan.
